In 1973 we moved to Courtmacsherry, Co Cork, with Jane and Robin Forrester and set up COURTMACSHERRY DESIGNS. We built a pottery and showroom in an old garage in the centre of the village, and built a kiln. Within 2 years our order book was full, and we supplied craft shops throughout Ireland.

In 1975, Robin and Jane moved to Bandon and set up the Bandon Pottery, and Fran and I stayed in COURTMACSHERRY and built a showroom and pottery in the old Garda Barracks.

From 1976 to about 1999 our production was stoneware.

In 1980 I started working with porcelain, spurred on by visits to Scandinavia, and meeting fellow porcelain makers in Denmark and Norway.

From 1985 to 2010 almost our entire production was sold through our own shop in Courtmacsherry.
